Living Beyond Breast Cancer

Living Beyond Breast Cancer

By Alex Dean

“When fear knocks, let faith answer the door.” - Robin Roberts

I was a little hesitant of spotlighting this story on my own mom who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January of 2019. It brings up a lot of emotion and not the greatest of memories to be honest with you. But with us stepping into October which is highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted you to hear her sharing a real-life experience of fighting, motivation and understanding of what we are putting into our bodies on a daily basis.

Going about our daily routines, we can tend to forget about nourishing our own bodies and taking care of them. We are living in such a fast paced world with access to so many unbeneficial foods, we sometimes don’t take the time to stop and think about what we are actually consuming. Check out her testimony below on how she became introduced to Elderberry Syrup during her breast cancer battle.

“After I became diagnosed with breast cancer in January of 2019, I was introduced to so many different oncologists and a cancer dietician. It was a lot to take in and became overwhelming at times. But when listening to them, they told me a lot about what we put in our bodies TRULY matter. How even the smallest of changes with eating better with plant based or organic ingredients, can help move us in the right direction. There are so many things we can’t control environmental wise but if we can keep our immune systems up by consuming healthy products, you’re already creating better steps for a healthier life. It was very eye opening for me and it pushed me to do a lot of research. During chemo and after the battle itself, you are on so many medicines to keep the cancer away. Unfortunately, most of them lower your immune system at the same time, so you have to find ways to keep that boosted. I was introduced to the syrup when my daughter started working at The Elderberry Co. in March of 2020. She herself became educated in what it was and opened up that conversation with me about the product. I did some research just because I had never heard of it before. Once I tried it out for about a month, I had personally already noticed a difference in my allergies, which was unexpected! I didn’t have to take over the counter allergy medicine anymore. It was also convenient in taking this verses multiple vitamins/pills a day. It’s very straight forward with the ingredients so you clearly know what you’re putting in your body. There is nothing artificial about it which is nice to know. Till this day, I am still on a medication for 10 years so knowing this syrup does encompass a lot of the healthy ingredients to keep my immunity up while still taking my daily cancer medication, is a safe feeling. Toward the beginning of my cancer journey, I also had a lot of nausea from the chemo and I had a few cups of the Lemon Ginger Tea at the time which helped keep that away. I definitely know for fact this has helped my immunity and not to mention, I haven’t had one cold or battled the flu since being on this. This is personally part of my daily routine and works for me. I personally encourage all of my breast cancer warriors out there, to keep fighting and educate yourself and your families on cleaner products so we can live a healthier life.”

I want to encourage you to leave a comment below on your own testimony or somebody you know that battled or is currently battling breast cancer. These are very impactful stories; thank you all for sharing.
Dana, you can take both the syrup and the gummies if you wish, but since you’re getting your dosage in both, only one is necessary each day! The dosage for the syrup is a tablespoon a day for adults, equally 2-3 gummies a day! We appreciate you all!

I’m breast cancer free for 1 year now 4 more to go and I’ll never get it again or so they say. I caught it on a regular mammogram that’s why it’s so important to do those even if they are a little uncomfortable they are necessary to do.

I just received my order of the syrup and gummies. Can I take both everyday? Maybe the syrup in the morning and gummies at night. If so, how much. Thanks so much!

Continued good health to you. I too have been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia allegedly caused by the use of chemicals in farming, landscaping etc. I take my elderberry syrup every day and my numbers were down. My oncologist asked what I do and I said I eat organic, I grow my own organic food in my garden, I take elderberry syrup and I exercise and try to take care of myself. He said I was the 2nd patient that he had that takes elderberry syrup and their numbers were also down. It’s not a big drop but a number less here and there is a victory when you are trying to beat something that is serious. My one granddaughter had missed alot of school in 1st grade because of ear issues and throat and tonsil issues, and I found the elderberry into and ordered it and gave it to her and she is now in 4th grade and I can’t honestly remember when she had tonsilitis or an ear infection. Oh yeah a cold here and there, but nothing that requires an antibiotic. I wish you continued good health. Thank you for sharing your story and thank your daughter for sharing such a wonderful product with all of us. Blessings to all.

I was diagnosed April 2019 with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Being a 4 the generation BC victim I had known early on I would have a dbl mastectomy. I did in May 2019 and swore n be damned I would not have chemo! I found an excellent oncologist who explained chemo in relation to TNBC and said immediately, When do we start? I finished treatment Jan 2020. I wish I had a dietitian then but it’s fine. I bought a jar of syrup for my daughter. We both are BRCA 2+ and have Lupus. I will be buying more syrup!
